Did I Miss a "Busy Weekend" Memo?

I was at WalMart and Kroger today, and also driving around Valley Ranch, ( not for long, it was loco!) about noon, and it was like Thanksgiving holidays, in the stores. Crowded everywhere. I know tax free weekend was last week, and school already started. I returned home after grabbing an Icee, to get out of the Busy mix! What do you think was causing the people surge?

When I was in school, a lot of people also shopped for school the weekend after. Middle and high school find out what they need for each class once they go back. Also some people wait to see the what everyone else is wearing before picking out everything. Still others might have been hoping for after the start to catch things on sale, or were waiting for pay day (Friday or the 15th). There are lots of reasons.

I looked at the school supply aisles in both stores, thinking the same thing, and those areas were empty. Kroger is having a good sale on their supplies, though! Maybe everyone got a paycheck; it is the 15th/mid-month?

CaffeineFree: that was one of my thoughts too. Although honestly, I don't typically shop on the weekends because it is so much busier many families go out then to do their grocery shopping; my kids do
