Man charged with intoxication manslaughter in car crash that kil

Glad he was charged. Took 2 lives and will probably be out of prison by the next presidential election. We need to be harsher with intox manslaughter penalties. The punishment should also increase for higher BAC incidents. Double the legal limit double the penalty and so on.

There was a segment on the news last night about this. Their son was on there and it was so sad. They were encouraging residents to call 311 and request the City to do something about the visibility and speeding in this area.

Raikonnen : I'm sure his time will not be long enough. I do know of a guy that got 10 years for killing someone while drunk. He has not been let out for good behavior and will live out his entire sentence.

luannski : Yes but he was intoxicated it does not matter if it was their fault. He was driving illegally under the influence. He does not get a pass because they did not see him.

klp1972 : Anyone else notice that all the reports say that they were going North on Magnolia Cove and the driver was going west on West Lake Houston? Just drove that stretch and West Lake Houston goes north and Magnolia Cove runs East/West.

I hate it, too. I usually go under 59 as well, but this time I was going to turn onto Kingwood Drive but something had traffic backed up and I diverted to Hamblen and didn't even think about how much I don't like that intersection until I was sitting at the stop sign and realized the grass had grown too high for me to see what was coming. That's the last time for me. I'm never crossing 494 at that intersection again. This was too close a call.

Northpark has always been pretty bad for this. Not too many lights and, for a lot of years, not too much traffic - so people just flew down there. Nearly lost my son years ago when he was 12 when his friends mom was driving them to little Walmart and crossing westbound NP. She didn't the see the oncoming car and it t-boned them. She was badly injured, but the two kids just bounced around the backseat and walked away with bumps and bruises. Another drunk driver speeding.... who was also completely fine after the accident.
