Local place to go shooting? Does anyone know of an open range / land. I don't want to go to a standard range because I'm taking my younger daughter to learn how to shoot. Generally there's so many people shooting at the ranges and it's very loud I'm not a great teaching experience. I thought the Dayton gun range used to be an open area but it looks like they're not in business anymore, I'm not positive though.
I know some state parks allow it only for recreational shooting so still searching some of those but not finding anything yet where they allow it locally around here. Thank you

KellyM: The best nearby outdoor range would be Carter's Country down off of 1960
I've been to both of those. Some national parks have open land where you can go and recreational shoot. I'm looking more for just open land that I can go to.
KellyM: gotcha. I don't know of any close by. Would be interested if you found a spot.
KellyM : You should drop by Range USA and ask about their Lady Sure Shots program. It's for women only, takes place on certain Saturday mornings before the range is open to the public, includes some instruction, etc.
SorryInAdvance : Yes, please let me as well. I prefer to shoot outdoors. I used to go to the one on 1314 not too far from 242. But I have not been there in awhile, heck are they still open?
