Yes, as a grandmother who has lived the rise and fall of Marxist Socialism in my country of origin this whole situation is scary. As a young person I was stealthily indoctrinated. It's a steady stream of talk that plays on the sympathy and sense of fairness that a Christian upbringing has taught one to have. But it becomes the toxic empathy where all reasonable thought ceases to exist and an inculcated sense of urgency for change turns into violent action against anything that seems to slow down the "change". I remember that we were told that those of us who gained positions of power should work to destroy the status quo and those of us who couldn't should use violence to cause the chaos to bring about change. Those of us in my generation who were argumentative and debated strongly with our parents were able to see both sides of the coin and adulthood made us see sense. And that is what saved us from being Socialist State manipulated robots.
So we need to procreate in order to go on living and if we teach our children well by encouraging healthy non violent debate they will go through the inevitable period of wanting to save the world in one day and become objective thinking adults.
Now we have the Internet and certain segments of society working against parents but if we encourage our kids to talk about what they are being exposed to and present them with healthy alternatives by encouraging objective reasoning through calm words rather than swords I think they will become level headed adults who will understand that aggressive action is not a substitute for free speech.

MissAmericanPie : It is about caring when it happens to whom one cares about and not when it happens to the "other" guys. Me, I think it is all wrong. I fear that to many, accountability is for the "other" guys to face.
