We are in panorama village near conroe and our power has gone out exactly twice for a couple of hours each in two years. My sister, in a new neighborhood in willis about 8 miles away from us loses power all the time.Of course both times I had forgot to unlock the non keyed deadbolt so I couldn't get in the house because the garage door wouldn't open.

LittleTexas : my niece's husband is 24 and he's a lineman and he was out in forest Cove yesterday at the baseball fields. And I texted him and said you need to make sure the power stays on out here. Mine goes out every day for the last three weeks. Lol and he sent me a text back and said that's why we're out here. We're trying to prevent this from happening during the hurricanes. Lol

Wow, they are even calling sportsradio 790 *****ing about the power going out in Kingwood. They get bored when the Stros are in 1st place and they can't find something new to pummel. The response was get a house generator. Moral of the story: Know and support your Sponsors.

Finally some data backing up that the grid really IS crap here. Everyone's always like "it's the trees!" as if Kingwood's the only place in the world with trees.

olemiss1968 : I am so hardwired to do things when it looks like bad weather. Charge phone, make a cup of coffe in case the power is out the next morning, make sure if there are clothes in the dryer...are dry!

LittleTexas : I had this happen so many times. Is terrifying! Even with our generator, it happens because it takes 30 seconds to kick on. So my machine just turns off - and I stop breathing. 🤦‍♀️ Fun stuff. My husband has programmed himself to wake up and wake me up.
