At La Madeline's in Kingwood. Be careful with your purse! " A person was eating at La Madeline in Kingwood when she had her wallet stolen out of her purse that was hanging from her chair. She found that suspects below had used all her cards including her church's debit card. The suspects racked up a total of over $5,000. One suspect even used the churches debit card that the complainant had due to her being a church employee. Now not only is she out of thousands of dollars but the church is out of money as well. This is camera footage of the two suspects who used the Peep's cards at Marshall's in Summerwood which is near by the la Madeline in Kingwood. The Peep also confirmed that she recognized them as being the couple that sat directly behind her while eating."

sweetie : Where possible, good reason to get a booth.

hrtb : And people are getting dumber with no situational awareness.

TexasTideFan : Criminals are getting smarter and some people are getting dumber. Put your phone away and pay attention.

Just a suggestion....a fanny pack around your waist is the one of the best solutions. You have hands free and not on your shoulder (another way criminals can grab your purse and might even assault you to get it off your shoulder). They have multi-pocketed ones that have a clip and you can lengthen/shorten it as appropriate. I love mine with 5 pockets. No one messes with me or my fanny pack and I carry. Amazon has lots of choices to select from.

Lulu45 : I used to not bring a purse. Just put my ID and cards in my pocket.

My 92 year old mother grocery shops by herself and puts her big purse in the front top section of the buggy. She doesn't watch it very well and I'm so afraid it will get stolen. I mention it every time I go with her. I've also shown her how to buckle it in with the child straps.

sweetie : How did they use the dibit card without the pin number?

Texas1965 : You can run it as credit instead.

Rolnwithmyhomie :
Thank you I did not know that. I do not use my debit card very often.

Texas1965 : Yeah, I've heard if you don't have an actual credit card to purchase gas, then switch it to "credit" when you swipe your debit card. It's supposedly safer.
