KW Trader Joe's NOT a done deal BUT…
Let's make it happen. This is from my friend. Please go and fill out the form telling them we WANT a TJ here.
A TRADER JOE'S IN KINGWOOD IS NOT AT ALL A DONE DEAL! If we love our Trader Joe's like I think many of us do, let's bombard them with requests! ❤️ Visit www.traderjoes.com/h ome/contact-us/reque st-a-store to show them the love! ( After speaking with one of the Captain's, I was informed that we are simply a contender in their opening a store here. They are looking at at least three or four spots on different sides of Houston to expand, and just because a permit was pulled for the front of Kingwood, doesn't mean we will have a TJs. So, please join me in sending them lots and lots of love and support of their brand here in the Livable Forest! Give them reasons to choose us! Let's make it make financial sense to come here! )

Are you reposting this from somewhere, or did you actually talk to someone?

I would also recommend that submissions include comments about the community's increased interest in healthier lifestyles, healthier dietary options, and alternatives to the crowded produce sections at the current grocery locations, as well as the inability of local providers to deliver the unique brands that Trader Joe's has been known to provide.

My friend went and talked to someone. Apparently they apply for permits to secure the buildings and then decide.

I was shocked when she told me this too since I've also seen the permit for the one in Kingwood. But she said the guy she talked to at the downtown location has been with a company for 19 years and he said Kingwood is in the running along with three others and they haven't decided the final location.
I spoke to them, personally. Trader Joe's pulled a few permits, and said we are just one of the contenders. I looked up and found a filing for a permit in Cypress (which I recall a mention of in the conversation as one of the contenders); so evidently, they pull several permits. I'm assuming having a permit already ready, expedites the process of moving forward at whichever location gets the green light.

Could be...we post a lot of permits, and I don't recall seeing a permit pulled where the construction didn't happen.
