Zakangel : Skyline Chili has cocoa in it and it is fantastic!
jwardl : Not Wendy's…I had chili there once and got a sharp metal coil stuck in the roof of my mouth…do not recommend.
Metal coil is not one of my favorite ingredients either. But Wendy's does have a good product, but I rarely visit fast food burger places. I prefer the Jason's Deli's chili.
cbear : Don't forget the cinnamon also
When they have it, the brisket chili at Firecraft is the bomb.

jwardl: i make my own, but sampled this at HEB the other day; easy and good! Add meat, etc of your choice. I make mine 2 days before serving to enhance depth of flavor, heat on low in crock pot all day, to serve. Add rice and cornbread and its Heaven!

cbear : NE Ohio. One of my best friends went to U of Cinn. Spent some time in Cinny to see the Bengals and The Reds and Pete Rose. Always liked Cinny. Skyline Chili was always on the menu.

cbear : It adds a depth of flavor definitely. Fish sauce is another ingredient. Won competitions on this recipe, although long ago. We have tweaked it over the years. So good!

I have never had it either. I mean many years ago I would get a little thing of chili at Wendy's, like you but, I can't think of anywhere else I've gotten it from.
I made some Saturday night and it wasn't great. I used a different seasoning packet and it made it too sweet.

I'm with you on this. To me, brand add some heartiness. My husband refuses me to put beans in Chili.
Oh well, I can't make a mean 15 bean soup and have all the beans I need for a few months!
