My DH was there for 8 days a few years ago and they never found out what was wrong with him.  Finally gave a diagnosis of diverticulitis.  He never had it happen again so we still don't know what it was.  He also said the baby music in the middle of the night because of a birth drove him crazy when he was trying to sleep.  I have taken my DD to the ER there and didn't have an issue.  They took her right in with a fever and strep and the doctor was super nice and explained everything.  Completely different experiences for us. 4951

Stay away, very far away...  Seriously there are people that think it is great however the bad experiences I have been involved with are too lengthy to write here.  Would never consider going there unless I am in a position that there is no other choice 4951

I had a terrible ER visit with them. They treated me decently enough but I had to wait a very long time, they were unprofessional, and not very informative. I know now not to go to choose to go there anymore. 4951

A couple of years ago, my husband was hospitalized there for a week for Coumadin toxicity. As soon as he was released, I began receiving bills amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars, even though I had insurance. When I called KMC to find out why they hadn't submitted the bills to my insurance, they told me they had, but my insurance company indicated that he was not on my insurance. I called my insurance company and was told that yes, he was insured under my policy. I called KMC again, and told them that my insurance company had verified that he was insured and instructed them to resubmit the bills.  Long story short, it turned out that KMC uses only the patient last name and date of birth to verify insurance coverage, and they, KMC, had entered my husband's DOB incorrectly. By the time I got to the bottom of the mess and got KMC to straighten it out, my bills were sent to collections. Not to mention, I received bills from doctor at KMC that never even saw my husband the entire time he was there. 4951

I did several years back when I had MRSA.  The ER Dr. did not listen to me.  I tried to give him my history and he said "I don't need to hear all of that."  When I told him it was MRSA, (it had already been cultured by my primary care Dr.) he did not believe me and said "No that's just regular staph."  He also gave me a prescription that I told him I was allergic to one of the main ingredients.  As it turned out that particular medicine was not even the right medicine to treat MRSA.  To top it off, they forced me to do another culture and then never bothered to call with the results.  Which by the way was positive for MRSA and clearly stated what meds it was sensitive to and what meds it was not. The one he gave me it was not sensitive to, so he should have at the VERY least called and prescribed another med that would actually kill the bacteria.  THEN I got the bill and even though the hospital was in my network the jerk ER doctor was not and charged me out of networks fees.  After almost killing me..... 4951

I had a very rude nurse in ost partum but after complaining to the next nurse I didn't get the bad RN again during my 3 night stay.  I meant to write a letter to complain about her and praise the others but never got around to it.  Newborn kept me too busy.   4951

They nearly od'd my mil. She went in with a broken toe and 6 days later she came out with heart monitors.

They did save my life when I had Pneumonia surprisingly.  The nursing staff though absolutely sucks and would rather sit on their butts at the nursing station instead of checking on their patients.  My Pulmonologists (great guy) there was tracking a spot on my lungs using regular CT scans from MH NorthEast.  I had one done at Kingwood and they failed to even pick it up.  Kind of loose faith in them when something like that happens.  4951

Stay far away from the er!!! Very far!!! The hospital itself is ok. My friends son was there in the er with flu issues. He stopped breathing. The er gavaged him wrong went to his belly instead of lung. Didn't do the proper X-ray after it. Called tx children's to Come pickup. When they got there which was over 30 minutes by ambulance they found he had been deprived of oxygen for over 45 minutes. Somehow he was still alive. Transferred to tch where he died 9 days later. Death was because of the affixiation by strangulation So no er!! 4951
