Capybara (previously ForeCPA90), who would create forum polls and always add "Turtles" as an option at the bottom…where the turtles option would often win the poll at one point…so it got memed on over the years and eventually became its own thing…years ago we even put a turtle on KDC shirts in tribute. And now, of course, the random turtle walking across the bottom of KDC sporadically… ; )

When politics started getting ugly I would just respond with "I like turtles" to lighten it up. Then it took off. My little contribution.
