I NEVER go there anymore. I have a little postal scale and online accounts for FedEx and USPS, so I print my label and take it to Mail and More. When I see the lines for the post office at Christmas time I'm just amazed because I know those people have computers too. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that the clerk in Neena's story was reprimanded--my general impression is as government workers those employees' jobs are ironclad, so they don't care if they do a good job or not.
The HOA has no jurisdiction over a federal building. Several years ago I learned the only person you can complain to is your congressman (at that time it was Ted Poe). Their office sent me a link for an official complaint form. Given that this is the government, you won't be surprised that nothing happened. I'm willing to try again...
#msg5914027Kingwood Post Office Yesterday, went inside at 12 noon to buy some stamps. There was a long line and only ONE clerk! They should have had more clerks for the noon/lunch time. And the machine there that sales stamps was out of stamps. Poorly managed place!
I remember when our PO was in the little strip center on NP @ WH. I could get crowded because the space was so small, but the postal employees were friendly and accommodating. Now, we have a big PO with big problems. My DW was there last week to mail a package, and the cover on the drop bin was locked, so she had to go stand in line. When she told the clerk that the bin was locked, he just shrugged his shoulders. That's indicative of several of the people who staff the KW PO. I read an article yesterday that stated the PO would run out of money by the end of the year and would need a Congressional bailout. Maybe they should look at cutting some of the 620,000 postal employees and privatize the whole operation.
golfshot and Genesis reacted #msg5917030Genesis : go to mail and More. I haven't been in the post office for 12 years because I go there. They have stamps they can mail out your boxes. They can do anything you need from a post office. No long lines John is so nice there.
