Kingwood Oktoberfest Returns to Holy Comforter on October 17th

The Kingwood Oktoberfest will return to Holy Comforter Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 17th, from 11 AM to 5 PM. The event at 1901 Woodland Hills Drive will feature the Kingwood High School German Club dancers, music from the Texas Sound Check Band, German-inspired food, local craft beer and family activities.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 through 12. Children younger than 3 will be admitted free. Organizers said proceeds will support the ministries of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and School.

We setup a stage for one in the Heights at a church...they said they had a good 500+ people show up

Up North nearly every outside church function/festival never had an admission charge just a tip jar for donations and were very popular. It appears almost all these festivals in and around Kingwood have an admission charge. For a couple with 2 kids you are looking 30 dollars just to walk in the door at this one. It seems pricey just to eat, drink and listen to some music. I think more people would attend with a donation jar instead of charging admission. Just throwing it out there.

They might have to get Insurance for the Fest since they have wine and beer........and usually they hire someone for the kids rides, games, bouncy house, and rock wall for climbing.....so there will be some costs.........

We have a School Fundraiser Fest this Sunday...at St Mary Magdalene, Humble, 11 AM until 6 pm......free to all. YES tons of food...Yes, tickets for the kids rides and games....and food......a fundraiser for the SMM Elementary School. We have it once a year in fall.

I hope they have a great showing. It looks fun but to take the family would be $40 just to get in. I'm not saying it's not going to a good cause though just not in the budget
