CantStandTex : more concrete is the last thing we need. I do hate losing all these trees though. Back during the last heatwave in 2011 we lost over one thousand trees. Heart breaking. Sadly many of the trees we planted to replace the lost trees are now dying 😩. I wonder if plants experience pain?

Ruger5 : Yes and it will take years to repair. I am really hoping we get rain next week. The models are the most suggestive that I've seen in quite a while, but it's going to take more than a couple of inches to do anything. (Doesn't it always) 😜 Today is day 10 above 100-degrees. Next possible rain chance is next Tuesday at 40% right now.
Ruger5 : I think plants do experience pain. Did you know trees will make a perfectly good limb fall off to conserve energy for the rest of the tree? They are smarter than we think.
I remember when we had one of these droughts a few (10ish?) years ago and lost so many. Hate to see it again. I'm almost certain one of my 30+ year old hedges in front of my house is done for and it's gonna leave a nasty gap. The afternoon sun is just slaughtering our west facing front yard.
Kingwood is losing a lot of beautiful trees. Leaves are dropping like snow From lack of water and heat stress. Very sad.
Ruger5 : We're good. Got a billion trees or so. This area has easily survived droughts for much longer than we've been here.
Ruger5 : It's dirt brown dry all over Texas. I feel sorry for the wild animals. I know they are suffering.
