Yes, but these scammers are Good at what they do, sadly. I would say I will MEET you at the bank, or even better, the police station. That will stop their game, quickly.

It seems she needs a family member to handle her accounts. My dad is still keeping track of his money but do not know how much longer. He clicks on emails and answering unwanted calls. The scammers are getting better everyday and older people can not keep up with the scams.

The person who fell for this has obviously not kept up with the times, and has no idea how online banking or chips work. We need to be looking out for the seniors in our life.

I ignore all texts and calls. Unless it's a notification from my bank's app, I don't believe it.If I ever get a phone call, I hang up and call the bank's listed phone number. It's too easy to spoof a phone number these days.

Why would someone come to physically pick up a bank card they told you to cut up?Maybe I'm paranoid, but I usually cut up expired cards into several pieces, and then throw them out. Any bank card I've had to replace due to fraud, I still have in my possession to this day.

mutton : They got in trouble using a 3rd party fraud protection program. Apparently the 3rd party was stealing people's money. They had a company come in to investigate and Wells Fargo cut checks to everyone affected.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Wells fargo has had probs for years. Remember when they created bank accounts without avtually notified clients? Oh hey lemme volunteer u fo a new account bro, yeah i got u g. No thanks. That being said all the big banks have probs like ignoring huge amounts of money being laundered. I guess the dollar speaks
