How Kingwood is changing be careful

cbear : Without K stickers, the parks are free to the public while Kingwood residents pay HOA fees to support the parks. Non residents can pay a fee to get a K stickers thereby sharing in the cost that residents pay. Everyone one using the parks should share in the expense.

explaining why you do not meet the criteria, does not change that you do not. everyone there could have an excuse,and most would never get a sticker, if they could just produce a 'reason' in the moment.. The rules are posted, and you see them When you park, like Any area with legally restricted parking.

How Kingwood is changing… be careful Today I join my son at Deer Ridge Park, he stop there to pick up his tennis things and gove some tricks to his friends kids about playing. His car, and the motorcycle, do not have the "K" sticker yet, then I take the chance to take a picture of the site to get the phone and get the stickers. Then I lean on my son's car trunk, when a white car town truck arrives, I barely pay attention because I was checking the picture, then he came at me in an abusive tone shouting, "Even if you stand there, I'm going to take that car." I said why? And explained we was taking picture of the sign, he kept threatening and then I react in the same tone. I said "you cannot without warning me and specially if we are just taking the picture" in the middle of discussion he grab the truck and begins to town the car on my side, then using his profanity speech lift the car, two asian ladies came to beg, they was also checking for the address to get the stickers, I told them he can't town the car unless they persist. The funny part was, two more cars was in the same situation, then when he was questioned for the rest of people he said, you are ok, but get your sticker… I ask why you want to take my son's car then? If I explain you? He was mad… and me too, that's not the way. My wife explain him and then he just drop the car and left, and take phots of my motorcycle. I said, is ok to take care of our parks, but behave yourself. Is ok to town them if the car are in violation, but I was taking care about get my stickers. Don't abuse of your position, I know you are doing your job but do it well. Respect each other. Kingwood is changing, we don't have this situations around here before. These days I read about to be careful in our trails due dangerous people are around, I read a guy taking the jar tips from a restaurant and I see younger boys under influence of something smoking weed at the gas station close to HEB. And today the guy who takes care of our parking area in that park… being a rude and abusive… what is next? Be careful if you see it and the "K" sticker is not in your car…this guy just don't care. I guess we need to do something to keep Kingwood in the way we like.

I have lived here 51 years, the K-stickers didn't appear until the 90s, they have not always been a thing or a requirement. Legally they can't tow you if you are in or near your car without giving you a verbal warning and asking you to leave. We had one tow truck attempt to block us in. I had only pulled up to pick up my son who rode his bike to the Duck Pond. I managed to get around the tow truck attempting to block us, and I called 911. HPD met us on Deer Springs, and ended up blocking the tow truck's exit from River Grove. The tow truck driver was ticketed. The KSA needs to make getting these stickers easier for residents, and there is a lot of existing legal precedent to support that their current tactics are bordering on being illegal. These stickers are only available via an in person visit to the KSA offices M-F, from 9-5, when the vast majority of residents are at work. You are required to fill out a form and provide a copy of your vehicle's registration receipt, your Texas driver's license or registration renewal notice, and your current vehicle insurance. These K stickers should be freely issued, as well as pool tags, at all KW area home closings. When a new sticker or pool tag is needed, all residents should be able to order and upload their documents online, and have it mailed to them. It's easier and less of a hassle to renew a drivers license, obtain a social security card, get a car registration sticker, and enroll your kids in local schools, than it is to get a K Sticker. At some point KSA is gonna have to face that, or someone with deep pockets will eventually sue and make it happen. Right now it's just a racket, that everyone seems to tolerate.
