The ridiculous water bills

The electrical grid is the only right answer imo. Power outages happen wayyyy too frequently from wind, rain, heat, the cold, you name it. Residents deserve better plus it can create safety issues. A solution would be a targeted infrastructure upgrade like replacing old equipment, improving tree management around power lines, adding more automated systems to restore power faster, and gradually moving the most vulnerable power lines underground. Completely rebuilding the entire grid all at once may not be realistic but prioritizing areas with the most outages would make a major difference. Eventually the entire thing needs an overhaul.

Dakotaj : Take it back to 1997 when I moved here. It's not realistic and can't be done.

TXLobo : We would need to go back to the days before we were annexed by the COH. Man, My water bill was only $25 a month and my lot was very well watered. We did have a yearly mud tax from the mud district and that was about $400 a year. I could really go back to that time!

I think this is controlled by the City of Houston. Before KW was annexed, the landscaping maintenance was much better.

Well, I think we could HELP, not eliminate the growth problem if we would limit new construction while we still have vacant buildings elsewhere, or else tell new construction that it has to be where old empty construction already exists.

It was truly wonderful when I moved in 1990. So many buildings we don't need taking the place of trees. Breaks my heart.
