I may need one too since my PCP is no longer on my insurance and I really don't like paying $90 per visit.
We go to Dr Ojomah Emono at Houston Methodist in King's Harbor. We like her, she's very proactive about sending you to a specialist to get checked out if you are having any health issues, and her staff are very responsive to requests for prescriptions, etc. What we have found over the years is each appointment is slotted for a set amount of time, usually 15 minutes (I'm talking about all doctors, not just this practice). A friend who is a PA told me that if it's just the annual that's enough time, but if you want to discuss other issues you have to make that clear when you make that appointment, and ask for a longer appointment. Otherwise the doctor is standing at the door waiting to go on to the next patient while you are still discussing your problem. I guess the days of Marcus Welby (I'm showing my age here) are over.

Kittle : I've heard he's good but you often get put off to a PA. Did you experience that?
MissAmericanPie : Yes, my mother often saw his PAs. Dr. Basaldua was my parents primary care doctor. He's good for doing your annual physical and filling prescriptions. He failed miserably at taking us seriously about the symptoms my mother was experiencing and wrote them off to old age. She had a brain tumor. I have seen Dr. Jill Taylor, now in Humble, since the late 90s. She diagnosed my Hashimotos & cough variant asthma, after years of Doctors writing off my symptoms.
Your Insurance company will have a directory........good starting point. And the directory will provide education and board status too.
Thanks. I'm looking there too. It's amazing how the vast majority are PA's and NP's. I don't have an issue them but now that I'm starting new with someone, I want a face to face and interview them lol
I have been with Dr Emono for several years. I think she is good at her job- open minded and a good listener. The big negative for me is that she is so good at her job that it is almost impossible to get an appointment now. She just has too many patients. I had to schedule my physical 6 months out.
