From the news outlets I've read on this, it wasn't the DOJ that raided (or rated) the domicile, it was DHS.
DHS may have raided at DOJ's behest.

Based on past history, this is most likely a political motivated raid, that will result in nothing except for harassing a rival politician...and doing it a month before elections, if not really solid, is pretty shady election interference.But the reality is, no one knows the details of this investigation, nor if it's legit or not. It could be legit. Who knows.

They'll investigate and speculate and hypothesize till November 3rd.

Meantime, DOJ barely has time to do anything else.

Forty-seven telegraphed this move a couple of months ago. Todd Blanche has made some troubling statements indicating that the DOJ would not necessarily be independent of the Executive Branch. Meaning if 47 tells me to go after somebody, I can't say I won't do it. Add that to the fact that Blanche was once 47s personal attorney. Therein lies the unholy alliance.
