LittleTexas : I have not had their food myself personally but know of others who rave about it. Nuff said.

LittleTexas : Never had an In-N-Out but people talk about it on the West Coast like people talk about Whataburger here which is OK but not my go to. Will give it a try though

UptownGirl : I like the Patty Melt at WB but, I can only eat half otherwise I feel sluggish. Rarely eat it.

Whataburger's everything is better BUT In-N-Out is good in a different way. I don't mind it occasionally. Their fries suck, though.

LittleTexas :
It is worth trying. They have an overall good reputation however there are plenty negative reviews. It has to be really good to beat Culver's IMO. Options are good.

Kittle :
True, we also really like Culver's, and Pete's Burgers is a favorite at our house, too.

donnatella: I doubt they're going to take over any building. They have a lot of specs about creating their own construction. The one in the Woodlands is where the sweet tomatoes used to be, but they completely leveled it and built to their specs. I haven't seen any info where the GC was closing, either. There is a lot of parking lot right behind the GC and also in that area where they can create their own building so I would say that is what they are going to do.

JerryJustice: deerbrook plaza it's actually located across 1969 from the GC. I agree they will build their own building. We just have to wait and see where they put it.

Txbutterfly :
I'm not a fan but I limit beef intake, and if I'm going to cheat and have a burger, that's not the place. I agree that they should have an option for non-beef eaters.

I understand your point, but if GC is struggling and closing this location, the seniors might not be supporting it enough.

donnatella :

I doubt it's struggling.....Place is always packed....In the linked-to article(link at bottom of this post) the developer says:

"Golden Corral does very well there, but the buffet business was hit very hard during Covid," Smith said. "And so with changing times - Luby's have been shutting down most of their locations; Golden Corral shut down quite a bit of theirs - we just saw the writing on the wall."

But....Covid was several years ago.....And since he said "we just saw the writing on the wall" that sounds like Golden Corral didn't have any say in the whole thing.....

It's also interesting that the same "developers" are fixing up Deerbrook Plaza Shopping Center.....I've noticed some work being done there on top of the buildings...Bet they're going to put some "lipstick on the pig" and then raise all the rents....Outback Steakhouse already left the Shopping Center recently, not sure if it saw the "writing on the wall" or what....Dollar Tree will probably be next....I sure hope Total Wine doesn't get pushed out!....And I hope Half Price Books doesn't get the boot either.....I often stop by those places when I'm going to make a trip to Sam's Club....
