donnatella :
Very true, but instead they are wasting more money and try to convince people to stay and or come back to the district. It is not going to work in the long run.

donnatella : While depleting resources to those that don't have the opportunity. Real nice choice.

olemiss1968 : Mismanagement of school funds, and hiring marketing companies to find out what they already know is depleting those resources just the same. It's not the fault of those going elsewhere. They now have options and are well within their rights to exercise that option when a school system is FAILING to meet their needs, and FAILING all the way around.

donnatella : Talk the TEA. Aren't they the government agency that took over a few years back? I believe so.

When better, bigger football stadiums become more important than tools for kids to be better educated, the kids lose interest.
Hiring a pr firm is just wasting more money on fluff and bs. That weirdo they hired to run the schools as a government entity, I saw things go to hell in a hand basket.
Not making the students their priority, they ignore their needs.
Why wouldn't the school act like a business when the **** rolling off the hill is now in business for themselves.
They don't care to have an educated society. The dumber the people, they follow what they are told to do rather than doing what is right.
On the parents side, they also have a responsibility to their child's education. One must be present, have unconditional rules. School is their first job. The job is to get the most of the education provided. Schools need to start educating again.
They don't teach reading, writing, or arithmetic anymore. Read an article that stated most kids in high-school and beyond have a sixth grade reading level. That's so sad.
On the teacher's side, they either do as the district says or they are let go. Again that's a political thing.
As far as unions go, people will be in for a shock as they want unions out. Unions came to be because workers were being abused. If anyone thinks not having them will make things better, they are wrong. Jmo

If i had younger kids I would pull them out of public schools and home school. The school choice is awesome and I would take part in that if possible. I would opt for a school that has classical education. No tech. And a rigorous school calender starting after labor day and ending memorial day. The current is embarrassing. Then there is the woke nonsense that is a cancer to learning.

Rucker85 : Your 'rigorous' schedule is shorter than the current school year.

Wrong. We would not have a week long break in October, February and spring break. Students would have three full months away from school to pursue other interests, get a summer job and reconnect with family and friends. Less exposure to today's public school and their employees the better.
