#msg5915406sweetie : Uh oh. …..I guess I'm getting jaded but now arson comes to mind!
If they even had insurance. If the house was inherited then there may not be a mortgage requirement of insurance. I know the roof was never repaired properly after Harvey, I think? So this could be a case of, "If I can't have it, no one will." Or it could be that the house was in such disrepair that a real fire broke out. I bet the court will force the sale before any repairs are made.

I read the legal briefs because you can see it online with a quick Google search and no login lol. He is one of 4 kids who inherited the house in 2005. Through a complex turn of events involving deaths and some giving up of rights, it's now owned by him, one other sibling, and two grandkids. But the initial inheritance was in 2005.

Well I hope there was insurance or I bet they walk away! There isn't going to be much there split that many ways. Sad situation!
#msg5915716PatrickStar : I don't think it was inherited yet? The old guy was seen there last week? Sounds like a complicated situation. But, if the old guy is still there and owns it, but not paying taxes and was foreclosed on, arson would be in his favor lol.
used to see an old man sitting on the porch and asking for money on the 59 feeder road. I don't know if he is still alive, but I also sometimes saw a young woman at that house. He used to be very friendly.

I grew up in Forest Cove and knew the family - have not had contact with any in a very long time.

You can do variations of address + lawsuit and/or owner name + kingwood + lawsuit. It's crazy how much is online.

Was this the house with some crazy guy who used to sit in the front yard and wave to people?

The disputed court case was an interesting read. Prime example why estate planning is necessary.
