sheltielover :
Wow...I didn't realize it was 15 years now...I walk by there sometimes on my lunch break to stretch my legs. I saw an older guy sitting on the porch there a week ago, and it looks like a new "For Sale" sign has gone up.

#msg5915451sheltielover : There's one just behind the KDC offices (Southern Hills Dr, Forest Cove) that has been sitting empty forever...looks like someone started to rehab it, then abandoned it and left it sitting open to the elements, and now it has major mold problems...they tried to sell if for something like $300k a while back I saw on Zillow, but it looks to me like it might need to be demolished...I can't imagine it's worth $300k, certainly not for the lot/property alone...

Joe : I have seen this house during it's many phases of remodel. I just don't understand how someone spends money and then lets it sit and rot. I think some of the "updates" were odd.

There is one house at the corner of Red Bud and Mustang Trail, when they started that build they framed everything and then stopped for years. All the exposed wood aged and became weathered and grey. Eventually, they came back in a finished it. I would never want that house! It is huge but, knowing the history of the build I would not buy that.

sweetie :
Oh my goodness that's awful! What a horrible situation. I hope the house was at least empty and didn't have possessions or someone squatting in it. I wonder how the fire started.

Oh man. Ownership of that house has been disputed in the courts since 2016. It seems like a very tense family dispute with multiple heirs and divisions of ownership. I suppose no one has paid the taxes on the house since no one agrees on how much of it they own. A lost appeal from last year shows 4 joint owners. What a mess.

It's been ordered to be sold and proceeds split, but I don't know if that was ever done.

Joe : I looked at that house for an investment when it first went up for sale. There was mold in there all the kitchen cabinets and bathroom. Cabinets were completely removed. There was no sheet rock . There was no nothing in there. But the mold was still obvious. They tried to sell it for a while for 150,000 and then they got 110,000 and then these new owners that bought it for 110 ended up not doing much in there and now they're selling it for 300.

PatrickStar : I wonder in a case like this where it burns down, I bet the insurance co only pays the owner? In which case that's really suspicious!
