Heathur : I am a Christian and a taxpayer who is not blind to the issues of the homeless. I just don't want to see it in my town. There are programs and facilities for the homeless in the city. I work hard for my money and have no desire to have my taxes increased to address finding places for them to live in Kingwood . I bought a house here because it was a safe place to live and was basically crime free. That is not necessarily the case now. Am I entitled? Yes, I am, do I feel sympathy for the homeless? Yes I do. There are no easy answers to the problem. Can I move to another location when it becomes a bigger problem? Yes I will.
Heathur : I saw a police car take the woman away and she did not commit a crime. She was so drugged out. Sorry to burst your bubble!

Homeless person passed out in the "breezeway" area at the old HEB center. He had his bike and trash around him. Looked like he was dead. I'm with my young son, so I didn't want to get too close or I would have taken a picture. Went into Pet Ranch and told the lady inside. She said she would call the authorities. She & another person walked outside to make sure he wasn't dead. He wasn't, saw his leg move. I am so **** off that this is happening in Kingwood. We didn't move out to the suburbs to see this crap. And if you're a bleeding heart giving these people money...this will happen. It's disgusting and I don't want this in my community. I have lived in the city and this brings crime and other undesirable things to a community. And just know that if you leave a "where are they suppose to go" or any sympathy comments towards the homeless...I will delete your comments. If you want to support these people, then move to the city and take them with you. 🎤 MIC DROP!!!! There needs to be a town meeting called to address this issue & the panhandlers. Who needs to be contacted? [ Admin: Just to clarify, thread creators cannot delete comments from other people on their threads ]

calliecat : Sorry to burst your bubble, but public intoxication is a crime.

CocoBagogo1 : I can understand your concern for your child having to see homeless people. But, you need to realize it is actually good for your child to see this. It helps them to learn they do not want to ever be that way. It helps them to learn empathy for others. You can make this a very good teaching moment for your child. When your child is a little older it would be go to have them volunteer handing out Thanks Giving supplies to people at Northeast Mission or something like that. Kids do not automatically know they have it better than others. They need to see they have it better. Otherwise, they might end up being whiny adults that think they had it so bad as a child when in all reality they never had to do anything in their lives and they had everything.
Heathur : She was so out of it and so emaciated. The police took her to where she could get help and some food . Thank goodness we have Kingwood police who help instead of doing nothing.
CocoBagogo1 : When my child was about 9 my ✨church✨ started going to thing called Street Church where we'd have fellowship with the homeless community, pray with them, clothe them, give them food, & just hang out. They are regular people who have fallen on hard times. I am no better or worse than anybody who may be struggling & believe it or not, neither or you or your 7 year old. You seem like you could use a little Jesus yourself. You should consider talking to a homeless person. Might even ground you a bit.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : YES! Meals on Wheels, HAAM, B.E.A.R, Houston Food Bank (I think there's a min. age requirement). Lots of great resources out there to make kids less entitled.
calliecat : Then she was committing a crime, doing drugs, had a warrant, or something illegal. Ask any cop (or feel free to marry one) but I guarantee you, they don't just remove them for being homeless. Do you think they just take them to jail simply because they're homeless? What are they doing with them in your head?
mm4731 : I'm more amazed they have access to FB smdh
