MissAmericanPie : There is a place in New Caney where you can take metal cans to be recycled and that is what I am going to do when I get enough collected to make a trip up there.
Help me understand this, pleaseā¦ Just saw a story about (Spring Branch) residents upset about recycling not being picked up in over a month. My question would be why not, after the first missed pick up, would you not just add it to regular garbage for pick up? I would not waste my time going to City Hall to complain and protest, or waste time separating if they aren't interested in picking it up. Most everyone knows that most of the separated recycling eventually ends up in the same dump pile as regular trash anyway.
donnatella : Not like this stuff is actually "recycled" in the first place. Bet it goes to the city dump right along with rest of trash. At least that's the story I'm hearing. Maybe recycling is just another way of billing?

Sell the extra trucks. Less gas to have to purchase for the extra trucks and then pass the savings along to the customers.

Ruger5 : Plastic is definitely not recycled. Glass/cardboard are at least partially recycled.

buffaloglenn : I hate how they do it at the Park and Ride recycle center. They have the individual bins set up but they also have a garbage truck where people empty everything into that truck. Everything is mixed together. I am sure none of that goes to be separated and recycled.
cbear : Our trash service sends a separate truck on Thurs to collect recycling. They provide a big trash can just for that. I get so many Amazon orders that I just put my boxes by the curb and they get picked up by individuals cruising for moving boxes.

donnatella : Hate to say if it was just me I wouldn't recycle. My DS is the stickler about it but not me. We produce so much trash it is crazy and think it is PITA at times to do it.

cbear : My parents used to do that and we would give them ours. They would save the money they got and give it to the 3 grandkids at Christmas to show them you can make some money with little effort if you really want to. They would each get $50 to $75 in addition to their Christmas gifts. The kids loved it! « Back to Chat
