Jnet :
I can understand this, but, honestly, anywhere you live, there will be disasters, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes ( lived those, no fun!), lava flow from volcanoes, forest fires, etc. This power outage is Not 'normal', and I am hoping it makes our State government sit up, take notice and make needed Changes to the "Kingdom of Centerpoint"!

I know we are here for awhile - all my family live here and it's great when there is and emergency. All we do is "prepare" for the storms that roll through. I like it here as everything is close by - hospitals, grocery and friends.

I don't know how you can handle the heat there in AZ - we travelled there a few years ago in July for a baseball tournament and I thought I was going to die just walking from the car into the hotel. lol I wound up not being able to go the games. We met up with friends living there and I was asking how they did it! Emoticon

Ever since I got here, I keep hearing this is "not normal" this heat for this long is not normal. These power outages are not normal. These storms are not normal so tell me what is normal because it's been over a year and nothing seems to be normal.

LittleTexas : I agree. However, there are plenty of places which have issues which are way more tolerable than here. Texas is a big state, and I grew up in an area of the state which didn't have near the issues here. I will enjoy my time here, as I benefit from a good job, my children are still living here, and --as I mentioned, just not retire here. I just cannot be the Grandma that my children must come to get during hurricane season. Besides, the humidity is a killer here!

Aggie89 :
I dont know- i actually prefer it to the Houston heat and humidity. Its been a tad more humid this summer because weve had "more" rain. I tend to get up and walk the dog at 6am and get the gardening done, then errands. I try to stay inside during mid day- then pool in the evening. I just dont feel as wrung out here as i did in Houston.
Lol maybe i was always meant to be a desert Gal and not a Beach Baby 🤷🏼‍♂️
