Harris Co Annette Ramirez tax site truly blows. Trying to pay my property tax online and it only lets me get so far before it stops responding. You put in all this info and when it comes time to select a payment method, nada. No prompts come up to actually allow you to chose credit card or e- check. It's already annoying they charge you a fee to pay…🙄.then it doesn't work. I am on a large iPad so I decided to try it on my laptop top. The lap top worked. But really if all you do is accept online payments, at least tell people you need a specific device to do it. And have a pop up telling people there is an issue with using a certain device so you know. So basic. Ugh. Rant over.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I pay by e-check and it's just a few dollars. The Harris County is only 50 cents.

MissAmericanPie : oh my God, I can sense your frustration, I am so impatient I would blow a gasket. Government inefficiency definitely blows! Now I need a cocktail lol

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Yes, I've been doing it for a few years. I used to send check my snail mail, but they seems to take a long time cashing those, and also that's when Houston mail started having a lot of delivery issues and bills and payments started going missing. This is also when I decided ti finally convert to online bill pay. When you get online to pay, it will be an option along side the credit card. E-check. You entire your routing number and your account number and it's instantly applied to your account after approval. Humble ISD is 1.50$ fee, and Harris is 50 cents.
I'm doing mine right now. The tax sites are using shopping carts for their e-commerce. Weird. I'm not shopping.
MissAmericanPie : I hate they charge a huge fee to pay online. Most charge 2.something%. On $3,458.00 that is an extra $69.16. Taxes are high enough! We always find a day to go down to the tax office and pay it. It is pretty fast if you get there early. At the Humble ISD office hubby walks in, gets a receipt and walks out. Very well organized! Every so often we break out the checkbook an send it snail mail. It surely saves us some money!

And for those that wait til the last minute and don't have a laptop top to pay, will be going in person or pay a fine for being late at that point.
