any pre-1918 photos?

Taft : What's important about pre-1918 photos? We probably have some in a box we haven't bothered to sort through --actually I think my daughter has them. These would just be fading photos of our relatives. My father was born in 1910 but I don't remember how far back the family photos go.

Taft :
I agree with this. My father in law passed away in 2021 and on the night of his passing at his home we were looking at old family photos and there was a picture of a young lady's tombstone who passed at age 18 in the 19 teens and the epithet read something to the effect of gone but not forgotten. It was a bit eerie that we were looking at her photo over 100 years later thinking about her and who would/was her nephew who just passed. There are so many old pictures that are discarded because relatives don't know who is depicted in the photo or the context in which it was taken. Forgive my reminiscing rambling.

GoldenGirl : It was slim pickens by the time I got there haha. There's so much wonderful furniture at estate sales its a shame people buy new (although i'm guilty of buying new Amish haha). I dont have room for anymore of this beautiful antique furniture, what happens to the furniture that doesnt sell?

Taft : That is usually up to the homeowner, in this case it will go to Charity.. We boxed up the "smalls" that were left and will take them to a charity drop off. We do not do that for every sale.. Because we go to half off at 1:00 on day two we usually don't have much left especially at a sale of this caliber.

We used them for my dad's house last year. I can affirm that it was such a relief to hand it over. We cleaned and arranged the best we could, the angles came in an showcased things for us. It was an easy (but difficult) process. Highly recommend them. Professional, left place clean and neat and paid promptly.
