I took my daughter to the cemetery off of lauder rd. Best place ever. There are lots of turns fewer cars and the speed limit is slower. She went from that to driving around our neighborhood. Finally, one Saturday we hit the back roads. I just let her drive where she wanted. Ended up in Livingston with just one small mishap. We had the best time, went to Buccees(?), AND she got the confidence she needed. She's a great driver that has common sense.

Texasdaughter : KPHS parking lot is where mine practiced. Also, there are some less traveled roads around the HS. Good luck!

Be sure to have some of your favorite beverage waiting for you at home, to calm your nerves after your first experience. Reminder: You CANNOT take your beverage with you while teaching him. You MUST wait until you get home.

PS: At first, I thought this was one of those PSA warnings, and you were going to tell us what model and color of car to avoid getting near!! Ha!

Congratulations on getting the permit! My husband and are Driver's Education instructors for 20 years with SafeWay and the first thing that needs to be addressed is the incorrect answers given on the permit test. (Which permit questions is the student driver confused about?) Go over those missed areas and give lots of tutorial practice in KPark HS lots & Sherwood neighborhood. (Very safe areas) Westfork HS is a huge PL we use. Do not use the PL where Painted Tree used to be, as lots of traffic still cuts through there. Early mornings on weekends on I-59 work best for fwy lessons. Best advise is for "YOU"; their family members to set the right example and help the student to develop good habits ! Good luck !!!

I'd suggest Kingwood Park high school, the back lot, rather than KHS.
Kingwood High's lot seems really busy.
