Funny weather story

So I posted yesterday about Cooper waking us up and instead of an intruder it was rain. On the local site that shall not be named there were posts asking about " that noise" on Sun morning at 2 AM. What could it be- what happened- those kind of questions. It was simply thunder that freaked everyone out 🤣🤣. It's such a rare event ( yesterday was the first time I've heard it in the 2 years I've been here) that people didn't know what it was.

Now mind you it was NOT the earth shattering thunder and lightning we get in KW- just a nice little rumbling that reverberates off the mountains! These poor people would totally freak if they ever experienced a KW storm.

I am thankful for the rain we received- we had some nice rain- enough to puddle in the retention areas!

I love storms and canes and rain all sorts. Not to be confused with liking the devastation they bring, NOBODY likes that. But Mother Nature is glorious and furious and fearful and other worldly beautiful. Hurricane season brings lots to follow and track and stand in awe of as those canes take shape across those vast open waters. I come from a long line of Floridian storm watchers. It's in my DNA, it's how the good Lord made me, I embrace it. It takes all kinds eh? 🤗

I hope everyone is prepared or getting prepared (my best advice as always is an inexpensive stand up ac and whatever size stand alone generator will keep the cool air flowing.)

Going to be an interesting season with neutral el nino and la nina conditions. Despite the greater possibility of a milder season, NOAA is predicting above average storms. No clue why.

Yea the weather people said this storm was rare- doesn't happen often here. It was courtesy of Alvin- first named storm of the year in the Pacific. I'll take it- my plants are very happy

Years ago I was visiting Sedona during the Summer. We stopped off at Wendy's to get a frosty. The girls at the register said, "It's rainining!" I said it's evaporating before it hits the ground. That's not rain. You need to go to Houston.
