Athena, A399614, 3 Years, Female, 52lbs, Heartworm Negative.Athena is a shy and sweet girl with stunning blue eyes who recently came into our care after being found at a local power company. Initially, she struggled with the shelter environment, making it challenging for staff to handle her. She was shy and nervous, even low growling and lunging when approached in her kennel. However, in the last few days, Athena has shown significant progress and has warmed up to staff and volunteers. With patience and gentle encouragement, she started to come out of her shell and became more relaxed in the play yard, allowing pets and seeking out affection on her own. Athena appears to know the "sit" command, responds well to positive interactions, takes treats nicely, and walks well on a leash. Although she is not currently co-kenneled, she did not show any aggression when walking by other kennels and appeared interested in other dogs in neighboring yards.
