I had a physical therapist tell me he has until the end of the year to go until he pays his employer off for the cost of a visa he got in 2022, 5 years of a form of indentured servitude. I had to explain indentured servitude. His family's situation hasn't been a bed of roses in essence paying $1,000 a month to draw a salary. Interest was charged on the advance, loan, by the employer.

The visa costs I see, but the interest should be minimal. I bet he's still glad he did it. Visas costs should be lower for needed fields.

I don't believe that having empathy is a weakness, and I feel that it's important to have it. I do think that there are people who take advantage of people who have a lot of empathy, so it makes it a double edged sword to me.

He has been paying credit card level interest. He is still glad he did it. He recently bought a house in the New Caney ISD part of Kingwood. Great guy.

They should have only charged what it costs them in interest. The bigger issue is the high cost of the needed visas

I agree on both items. He told me things are getting more onerous for more recent newcomers.
