Sisyphus : I don't know every time I go to Trader Joe's in other parts of town they are always packed. I think they definitely have a cult following and will do quite well out here. True you're not gonna get everything you could get at H-E-B or Kroger, but that's part of the appeal.

Weathergirl5 : I think you are very correct. Not only will Kingwood residents shop at Trader Joe's, but residents from all over our area, like Humble, Atascocita, Porter, New Caney, Valley Ranch, etc. Personally I cannot wait until TJ's opens. I thought I'd never live long enough to see one in our area. I can see myself going at least every other week, or most likely every week (maybe twice)!!!! I'll probably go to the new Sprouts often, too, especially before/after one of the many classes I take at KW library.
Weathergirl5 : Probably as far north as Cleveland & Splendora will shop there as well. I'm tempted to say even as far north as LIvingston!!!!!
NeverPayRetail : Well, the people who are further up north might hit the one in the Woodlands since it would be closer. But you are right, I think people will come from all over to go to Trader Joe's. Not just people who live in Kingwood.
NeverPayRetail : I will definitely be going there weekly for some of my grocery shopping. I will still go to H-E-B but there's definitely things I love at Trader Joe's and can get cheaper there. I've never been a big Aldi fan, but I really do like Trader Joe's. I can't wait for them to open. I'm also looking forward to sprouts opening since I've never been to a sprouts, but heard wonderful things about them.

Weathergirl5 : Kingwood is a very different market from many other parts of town. You can see it in, for example, restaurants that do not succeed here. Kingwood is more price conscious and seems to have less serendipity shoppers. I like oddball groceries, most here I don't think do. I think it will do ok in the long run. Two Buck Chuck wines will do great.

The high end steak houses get both lunch and dinner from the large businesses that are there. Also, many of the restaurants that open here end up not being great.
