Dining in the woodlands to day it occurs to me

KWDfive : ❤️ La Guadaloupana, Baby Barnaby's andThe Hobbit Cafe, just to name a few. Backstreet Cafe is one of my favorites for brunch.

HectorCheese : Hopefully so and soon, definitely worth the trip! All of their burgers are so fresh and delicious, you can't go wrong no matter which one you order. My family and friends have been known to order different items off of the menu and then just share them. ❤️

@IzzysMommy : My favorite is their chicken cobb salad, I get two meals out of it. I miss the food in my old neighborhood so much.

cbear : The Friday's in Humble, near the Old Navy shopping center, across from the Maul (spelling is Correct!), is very good. The key is to sit in the bar, and hope that Michelle is there. She has been there for years as a bar manager, and is amazing. Sweet blonde lady, long ponytail, usually. Very pretty and excellent customer service. Join the Friday's club on their app, and you can get Free chips and salsa, each time you visit. Just tell them you are a Stripes member. The chips/salsa are good, too! You earn points for free food, and also get a free birthday treat. I enjoy their salads, burgers, and desserts, especially, but lots of good dishes on the menu.

Ruger5: the profit margins for high end restaurants are very very tight. Risk versus reward is just not there. The food choices in kingwood are almost as bad as the traffic.

Ruger5 : To start with, I consider Chimichurri's, Raffa's, Amedeo's, Union Kitchen, Mincius Gourmet Hunan and Akashi Sushi Fusion Cuisine to qualify as "fine dining" not to mention Chez Nous in Humble.The second point is that The Woodlands is almost twice the population of Kingwood. According to The US Census Bureau, The Woodlands population in 2020 is 114,532. The US Census Bureau reports the population of Kingwood as just over 60,000. In addition, there are many corporate offices in The Woodlands as well as being located on I45 which provides for a much larger market coverage area.Kingwood is a family suburb with an average adult age of 40 years. This is the prime time for raising a family. You're far more likely to frequent family restaurants of which Kingwood has a large variety. Everything from Sharky's, MOD Pizza, Skeeters, Cilantro's , New York Pizzeria, Three B's Grill, Los Cucos, Texas Roadhouse, and Cracker Barrel to name a few. This doesn't include all of the fast or convenience food places. Restaurant such as Panera Bread, Panda Express, RC's Pizza, Fuddruckers, Pot Belly's Jason's Deli, Chelsea Deli and Cafe offer convenience and quality food for busy families.I have lived in Kingwood since 1989 and my wife has been here since 1976. Kingwood has always catered to families when it comes to restaurant dining. This is not a bad thing after all, that is why many of us moved here instead of The Woodlands. When we want fine dining, we don't have to settle for SISCO supplied restaurants that are part of the Landry's chain. We can be in the heart of one of the largest culinary cities in the US in less than 30 minutes. How would you like to drive down I45 at 7:00 PM on a Friday or Saturday night? Not me.The livable forest means that our quality of life is blessed with nature, close community and a great selection of restaurants where we can take our entire family. After all, when all of your children are grown and off to college, there will be plenty of time to search out fine dining. We only have a few years with our children and I for one am thankful that there are so many good family restaurants in Kingwood.
