if you go to the counter where they sell tickets within about 20- 25 minutes of the movie beginning, they will give you a ticket for another movie. Some theaters will refund your credit card, as an option, too
I havent really been interested in any of the last few of his movies. Has anyone seen one in the past 2 or 3 years that they enjoyed? Not interested in seeing this Digger character in his undies. It's not Like "Risky Business". Now, That was a fun movie!
#msg6025892Joe PlaneCrazy RolloTomaso : I don't know what people were expecting. I haven't seen it but I knew what it was before it came out. Alejandro González Inarritu doesn't do normal narrative movies. He did Babel, The Revenant, and Birdman. It's going to be weird and have some thinking to it. When I saw the first trailer that wasn't the teaser I was thinking something like Doctor Strangelove sort of feel but with the box office of Hudson Hawk. 😄 It will probably hit cult status 20 years down the line or something. You never know in the long run. The Thing almost killed Carpenter's career and picked up cult status later on. I'm thinking people are going expecting one of Tom Cruise's standard polished films and are getting smacked in the face with an artsy disjointed story instead. How close am I for those who've seen it? I'm curious.
#msg6025925Joe : I get it. I haven't seen anything in a theatre for years anyhow. I'll watch it at some point for **** and giggles. I think criticism is just broken these days. Everything is the worst movie, album, or book ever or a smash. No middle ground anymore for the vast majority of reviews. Like I said, you never know what's going to catch on or not. Some shows people are thrilled about are canceled before a season is done. The studios are more interested in pushing out cookie cutter IP movies instead of taking a gamble on a film. Plus, now you basically have two to the companies that own everything. Kills creativity. I do like that some of the younger generation is starting to collect physical media again because of random censorship, cuts, commericals, and price tag of streaming. But that's a separate subject.
#msg6026191Sophos3 : Joe I'll go to the theater sometimes just to enjoy the big screen experience. I've done this with Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, LOTR, Harry Potter but not much else. I'm definitely not interested in any DC or Marvel universe stuff - wasn't into comics as a kid, and it just seems so utterly mindless. I could be wrong because I haven't seen them though. Maybe someday I'll appreciate the movies of today... Just not today
I get it. I watch all sorts of movies and I have only walked out of one in my life. I watched Rockula. I had to split it into two viewings of half. I am convinced the only reason it exists was to launder money for a crime syndicate or something. I just watched The Backrooms. Pretty good. I thought it was a good example of existential horror using liminal space. I lot of questions by the end left to ponder. Apparently, it's the directors first studio effort and he did it under budget and under schedule. I like that they used a lot of practical in camera effects.

#msg6026217Sophos3 : That's too funny. There's more than a couple of pizza joints in Philly that are fronts for someone
Oh I know. Look up the budget on Rockula and compare it to the result and it's insane.
As a teen, we'd go frequently and just see whatever was showing... Seems like 80s movies were more diverse and fun.
