#msg6022080Luv2eatsushi : Should be the kid. The greenbelt trails say stop at most I've seen but I have seen them go through crosswalks at busy intersections when they have the red/do not cross lit up.

I think you're correct but not sure. I almost hit one yesterday. He was flying NB on WLHP right in front of Creekwood. Came shooting across the street (in the crosswalk). My breaks screeched and I laid on my horn. The horn actually scared him and he flipped me off and kept going. Ill check with HPD.

You have no way of knowing that for every situation. If you are driving slowly in the direction and area you are supposed to be driving in, and a kid comes out between two cars not even looking because they are on their phone with earbuds in their ears, that is not the driver's fault. I saw a kid run into a parked car the other day. Was that the driver's fault too! Yes, people in Kingwood drive crazy and there is little traffic control, but do you really think elementary kids in the mix is okay?

I have yet to see a case where the driver was legally held responsible.

I will advocate for what I believe in and protest what I don't. This is especially true when it involves kids too young to make responsible choices.

Crosswalks are not a right away when the light says don't cross. Also crossing in the middle is the street with no intersection is not a right away. Regardless of who has the right away, it isn't safe for kids. Yes, if a driver doesn't yield right away, then they are at fault, but that does that matter if your kid is seriously injured or. All the money is the world won't make it better

You have know way of knowing that for every situation. That starts this rant. Let me understand this a little better, we both advocate for children and teenagers safety. You advocate by wanting to legislate all children and teenagers to the standard of its illegal to use a device to commute to their events when other means are not available. I prefer to watch out when I am driving and not hitting anyone. Kingwood is a child friendly zone and parents and the community should know that it takes a village.

Why are parents not interested in the wellbeing of their children? What happened to helicopter parenting? This generation has NO common sense.

Luv2eatsushi : Shouldn't really need to check with HPD. Bottom line is they have to abide by the same traffic rules as the rest of us. If not they should be fined or not be using that vehicle at all!

#msg6022014Please do not advocate for more regulations. Americans are over regulated already, we have so many laws no, that you can not spit out a bug without breaking the law. People driving need to pay attention to driving, not doing other things and blaming their failures on others.

pickme2 :

We are paying attention. That's the only reason more haven't been hit with a moving vehicle.

We need more laws and more law enforcement officers who will do their job, not as a baby sitter but law enforcement !! Most HPD officers i have spoken to about the golf carts and e bikes think its ok as long as they not hurting anyone , one told me , they could be doing worst ,, Well don't worry they will, do worst !
the COPs would rather pull you over for no front license plate than save a kids life!!

These so called "parents" cannot parent a dog. They are so self absorbed it's pitiful. They are only interested in long camel looking lashes, hair, taking pics of themselves… vanity. These young kids have to raise themselves and it's the kids that are suffering. Seems as though this generation is at a complete loss of caring for the children they produce. It's truly sad. 😢

Move to a police state. I like my freedom, not willing to give it up. More laws and more police cost more money and is not any safer.
