CONSTABLES REMOVE A SUSPECTED DRUNK DRIVER FROM PRECINCT 4 ROADWAYS

On June 5, 2024, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the 5000 block of Atascocita Road in reference to a single vehicle crash. Upon deputies arriving, the driver was identified as Matthew De La Rosa, who displayed multiple signs of intoxication.
A series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and it was determined that he was intoxicated.

"Matthew De La Rosa was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 8." - Constable Mark Herman

Yeah… that makes sense. A Bond lower than his Bar Bill. WTH!!! Seriously… a $100 bond? This ******* could have killed someone. Life is so fragile. Why does something horrific have to happen before Judges get serious about Bonds?

Glad to see we're still engaging in the public humiliation of those who haven't yet been convicted of anything. Super job!

Babieborris :

>> Some of the people shaming this person have drunk drove before and just didn't get caught. Sometimes before we start judging others, maybe we need a good look in the mirror. That's all

Babieborris : Very true. We very much have a public drinking culture in this country and it tends to only get shamed when it involves an arrest or tragedy. As you say, we should all have more accountability including harsher legal enforcement.
