MissAmericanPie : Read my comments to see what I said and not trying to say. I'm not regurgitating this. I don't do overly broad generalizations. That's the problem with society now.
J2911 : When it all becomes too much for you, here's a little nugget…we're ALL the same lol. Think about that. Do you really believe only certain people generalize? No, we all do, including you, unless you're Alien and not humanoid. This idea that generalizations are all evil is ridiculous. It's nothing more than a familiarity. If a white girl wants a weave that mostly just black women use, so what… you can't say that it's mostly black women who have them? You can't say it's cultural?? Generalizations EXIST and they can exist harmlessly as a matter of observation.
The fact that you think it's even negative, I don't get it.
MissAmericanPie : I don't think that we will ever get through to this person.
J2911 : Why do you feel like "acting black" is negative?? I believe that it's purely a matter of word chosen atm. . If she said mimicking black cultural trends, would that make you feel better? What's the difference? The fact that you think it's even negative, I don't get it.
J2911 : There are white students at the schools that emulate black culture. How is that a generalization?
J2911 : You certainly seem to think you must change other's minds! You're so overly sensitive about black cultural behavior. Black people agree about their culture and behavior. They're proud of it, and it's made many rich.
J2911 : You said that I made a generalization, but I did not. White women wear hair extensions not that many white women wear hair weaves by the way.
MissAmericanPie : And if you don't get it, you probably never will. I'm not trying to make you get anything. I asked your friend a question as I have every right to. I could care less if you get it or not. My position still stands. The statement is problematic as your friend admitted to. When she got questioned about something he/she knew was controversial, she took issue. That's not my problem.
J2911 : I know all about educated black people, I have one in my family. My opinion is about the majority.
