Dang, jade palace and dimassi both burglarized. Looks like same

Yes, I was just thinking about the Jade Palace the other day. Their egg rolls were fantastic, but I've heard the quality of the food has gone downhill, which was sad to hear. I've never been to DiMassi's, but I've wondered if it was good.
I only recently heard that there is a place called Gelato Bliss in Humble, and I really want to try it, their website looks really good. Maybe when it gets a little warmer, though. Lol

DiMassi's is a very nice Mediterranean food buffet. I think the food is good and it's very reasonably priced. Give it a try!

We used to love the place. When Mr and Mrs Gee passed it wasn't the same. It's only gotten worse over the years, sadly. I miss it.

Same thing happened to mencius, we loved it and when original owners retired it wasnt the same. Covid and the economy hasnt helped either 😔

Same thing happened to Oriental Gardens when they got sold. Place went way downhill and no one I know will even attempt to go there anymore. Sad. We used to go every weekend!

Txbutterfly : Sure did. Used to stop and get an order of those big egg rolls for lunch.
Also loved their pineapple chicken and then that was dropped from the menu.

Those egg rolls were the best. I watched Jade Palace being built and well remember the parking lot overflowing , especially at lunch on Sundays. The last couple of times I was there, which was a number of years ago, the restaurant was beyond dirty and food terrible.

I still miss Oriental Gardens - their food was delicious, service was excellent, and prices reasonable. Then it ALL changed. So sad. Another restaurant I have not visited in several years.

That's really sad. I still miss Mencius, too. That was our go to Chinese restaurant in KW. I just don't like Hunan Gardens that much, and Oriental Gardens is not good at all.

So crazy you mentioned Jade Palace. When my mom and I went to that Elvis thing, we drove by there and I mentioned how long they have been around. I haven't been in probably over 20 years, but loved them when I did go.
That's a shame they were both burglarized. Hopefully both businesses can recover what they lost and not a ton of damage was done.

Yes I do think that is part of it too. So many restaurants closed due to covid. But OG was going downhill before covid right after they were bought.

Yes I agree. I remember when Gary and Jim (the servers were there). They knew our order by heart. I hate that the current owner have ruined it.
