Crash 59 South Mainlanes at Kingwood Drive

StormChaser : Looks like station 104 is definitely down and expensive piece of equipment. Wonder if the city has loaners while it gets repaired.

Hopefully Houston will send another pumper and team…praying for full recovery for our fire fighters.

This is heartbreaking.... 4 of our firefighters seriously hurt while providing protection for an accident scene. How does that even happen?? How can you not see a big, red fire truck with flashing lights surrounded by other vehicles with flashing lights?? Prayers are going up for a complete recovery for our guys/girls.

Odd that the eighteen wheeler was on the road at that hour. Don't they have a limit on number of hours driving per day? A truck driver causes this much damage to lives and property and still no release of his name ????????

They do, but their 'clock' can start after midnight on a day, depending on their off/rest hours, the day before. ( my older son owns a logistics company, so I asked him ) Many truckers prefer early mornings and weekends, as traffic is lesser. This truck driver was not impaired, just not paying attention; his record will be reviewed and he will be charged. Continued prayers for the firefighters injured, as they heal!

One of the Houston news stations this morning said intoxicated. "Not paying attention" when you are driving an eighteen wheeler is huge "red flag"… my son drives heavy haul so I'm fairly familiar.

there was no impairment found in the driver, after examination. I am wondering if he was on his phone/nt watching the road? they will know that soon, too

Most likely fatigue. That time.of night w rain, it happens 😞

It doesn't look like it was that easy to have the fire truck towed.

Yep, they can drive up to 11 hours per day with 10 hours off. Then there is a 14 hour on-duty rule that is part of the 11 hours. It's a little ridiculous but driving for 11 after having 10 off seems like a lot especially when it's dark and rainy.

goldie : That is something! The one wrecker driver backed up for 75 minutes while levitating a bent-in-half fire truck behind him?! Wow!

Is overdue for traffic control.
If you be are going speed limit , you are the minority.
Speeding, racing, cutting in and out.
But 18 wheelers sit up high.
They would have seen the lights and chose not to slow down.
