I guess the people asked and it has finally been granted! I've been out of town for about a month, so I was suprised to see two people pulled over on WLH, heading out. I don't necessarily agree with pulling people over on the bridge, because I feel like we have plenty of neighborhoods as a safe alternative. I assume it's for the cops protection, but each officer had the tail of their cars sticking out the right lane, and with one cop in the front and the other in the back, it caused quite a scramble for cars to squeeze in the left lane to avoid hitting the officers. Im not a cop, so im sure it's just protocol. Thoughts anyone?

Nadialong : After the recent fatality on the northbound side of WLHP, which was in part due to speeding (and an intoxicated driver), HPD is probably stepping up catching speeders. They had several pulled over this morning at the YMCA or nearby. It's really not safe for people to be going 60 or more on the north or south side of the bridge (where people are turning and attempting to cross WLHP), so I understand why they are doing it. But, as you saw, sometimes the method / location of pulling people over isn't particularly safe either.
IF it were me, which it could be on many given days... I would turn on the hazard lights and pull over for the officer after I got off the bridge.. Safer for myself and the officer.
GoldenGirl : The ones I saw pulled over were a couple in the YMCA parking lot (smart) and one directly on the northbound outside lane of WLHP (ridiculous).
PatrickStar: Someone should put a dummy cop out there with a fake speed gun kinda like a traffic scarecrow.
PatrickStar: Not quite the scare crow, but on my way back passing the kroger on northpark they had one of those speed meters out, not that those are actually effective in slowing people down though lol.
GoldenGirl: That's what I assume most people would do, which is why I was a little shocked to two on the bridge. I would hope they wouldn't deem it as attempting to flee!
We drove over the bridge going north yesterday about 6pm and cars were doing 60 mph going past Raffa's !
billcherie2 : A typical occurrence on any portion of WLHP, but especially on the bridge.
LonghornBella : Yes when we headed to Atascocita about 11 we saw 6. All on the north side but they were catching speeders on both sides. Coming back it was down to 3.
Nadialong : Good! Let the cops pull them over for speeding. Two people died because some drunk person was speeding on the bridge towards Raffas at around 5pm a few weeks ago. There are two crosses where they died.
