TXhomegirl : That's exactly what happened to me. Quite a bit of added expense and after the newness worth off, no one used it, except for me when I had to get into it frequently, to clean it. The electricity bill pretty much doubled and pool chemicals were not cheap.

TXhomegirl : I haven't read all the responses but I'll be honest with you, pools are a LUXURY item when not bought with an existing home. They don't add much value and are expensive to repair and maintain. It's a BAD investment. Unless I was flush with money, I'd never do it bc you're pitching money into the commode and it only matters if losing it doesn't effect you.

You know, you could rent a nearby pool for $25 to swim in...
For the cost of a new pool, you could rent one twice a week, every week, for 15 years..
And no extra electricity bills, no extra water bills, no chemical bills, and no maintenance...

Joe : Interesting service ! I would be worried though that if there was a drowning...I would get sued. People these days do not take responsibility and sue at the drop of a hat.

The problem with adding a pool is that when you get tired of it, you can't sell it like a boat or a motorcycle. It's stuck in the ground forever and the maintenance costs never go away, whether you use it or not.
Have you considered an above ground pool?
