Do you have kids or grandkids ? Or dogs ? They make pools so much fun ! If you're going thru the hassle of getting a pool , absolutely get a hot tub!

mutton : but of its a 30k add on really?
Our neighbors put in a pool with a spa. It was more than $70K start to finish. It was inground.
@tumu had one put in a few years ago and I forgot what he said it cost $50K.
There are costs associated with pool ownership like maintenance, extra electricity and on dry spells water.

If I had a do over...I would have the following: rectangular.much easier to find a cover for winter and that helps keep it clean.just leaf blow debris off the cover. 5 feet deep max. no deep end or diving board. I am in my hot tub nightly weather permitting..I just don't heat it in the summer so it's my "baby pool". You can always get a pool as described above and purchase an above ground hot tub. IF there is a problem, no major expense like sandblasting concrete and it can go with you if you move. Best of luck!
How do I convince my husband to put in a pool. Give me pros and cons. He actually said we could get quotes next year! Super excited!! We have a pretty big backyard that I hate to mow. Do I really need a hot tub?
