TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Yes, one with strong water jets, and that gets hot. Not some wimpy, luke warm bubbler! Got to have that water massage. It works miracles on your back, etc!

Happyface : It really does! I want a pool so badly but I have someone holding me back from that.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Maybe you need an enclosed pool, like they have in Florida. No mosquitoes/bugs, no leaves, no birds or animals in your pool! Would certainly cut down on maintenance.

TXhomegirl : A pool is like a boat.....lotsa maintenance and expenses including insurance, taxes etc. You can always go to the village pool to swim . The money you save will pay for some terrific vacation trips. And between you and me, with all the new infrastructure and building coming in north of KW, our time is coming with the hurricane season upon us.

Happyface : Yes, I would love that! We would have to take out a few trees cause we have so many. I think a screened enclosure would be wonderful.

DH grew up with a pool. Cleaning it was one of his chores, so he will never ever want a pool. Emoticon

How do I convince my husband to put in a pool. Give me pros and cons. He actually said we could get quotes next year! Super excited!! We have a pretty big backyard that I hate to mow. Do I really need a hot tub?

TXhomegirl: Just saying - it's very difficult to justify the expense of installing a pool. There's also that continuous operating/maintenance expense, that's not included in that initial installation cost, that has to be considered.

TXhomegirl : This is how you convince him. Dig a big hole in the backyard and when he asks what it's for tell him ....... either a pool or your grave .....your choice.

I bet most people don't use their pool. My neighbors have one. In two and a half years, I prolly only heard 'em over there swimming 4 or 5 times.

Kittle : no trees out back. All of our neighbors have pools and they don't use them! Sort of strange...

TXhomegirl :
Everyone eventually does that. All my neighbors are the same except one. And that's because they just put it in last year. I give it this year and next, and then it will just sit there unused like all the others.

TXhomegirl : Yes, You have to have a hot tub! It is a must for those chili days when you have back pain and need a little relief. When you figure out how to get your hubby to let you have a pool please let me know how you did it. I have been trying to convince my hubby for years!

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I like chili! Kind of hungry now… Emoticon

TXhomegirl : I will tell you this, they are more work than you might realize. Leaf cleaning, chemicals, the electric pool sweeper.

Don't get me wrong they are delightful, as first time pool owners my husband stays busy daily. We had a pool guy for a year, to learn the ropes, and are doing it ourselves until the time comes where we cannot. Hopefully DH is good for another 10 to 15 years of being my pool/cabana boy. 😁.
