All Community Animal Hospital in Porter Does anyone know if they take walk-ins ? I noticed earlier today that our doggie has swelling in his ear flap (aural hematoma). His regular vet can't see him tomorrow and will then be flying out of town and recommended All Community. I'd like to be there before the doors open tomorrow morning to get him treated but don't know if they take walk-ins or see patients by appointment only. Thanks for any info

LizBeth91 : I used to use them and they are good. It was just too far to drive with my wild dog!!

LizBeth91 : If it gets worse, there is an emergency clinic in Humble by the mall which is open 24/7.

There's no information on their website so I left a message at their number.

This isn't life threatening but it's likely the ear flap becomes disfigured if treated after 2 days, and of course we don't want him to be in any pain.

All this is likely due to an ear infection and he's been shaking his head off and on bursting a blood vessel in his ear flap.

Ours had this. Vet said to put drops for ear infection to stop shaking. The hematoma cleared on its own. Just took some time. He didn't think surgery was necessary.

When my dog had a hematoma in/on her ear, my vet recommended Preparation H. It really worked and it was gone in just a couple of days.

Hi,
We use them for our vet needs. They do (usually) take walk ins but will tell you up front if they expect it to be a while if they are fully booked. And we've found that if they say they have a long wait they typically mean it.

As someone else mentioned the urgent vet by HEB takes walk ins but is expensive(nowhere near the cost of an emergency vet tho). I had a very good experience with Porter Animal Hopsital recently taking a same day appointment, a little far out but the staff/vet were great(23545 FM1314, Porter, TX 77365)
