BrendaT : Yes we are. Very distant cousins, connected by a commen ancestor who was the father of 2 Mayflower Pilgrims. And believe it or not we discovered this due to a thread right here on KDC.

Hello. It's my husband's car. 1969 Road Runner that's been restored and is in excellent shape. Almost completely stock and original. He wants to add power steering, power brakes, and vintage air to make it more drivable.

Mimi64: I recommend this guy. He's local, lives in bear branch and is very reliable and knowledgeable. Has done work for me and my friends. Tell him the guy with the 29 model a pick recommend him. I don't give out recommendations lightly. That's a friend's if mines car he's was working on. He had to build a part for it.

I second mellen 's recommendation on Billy Dawson. A very talented guy and a good honest guy as well. He's worked on both my jalopies (Model A street rod and a Shelby Cobra) and he's done very good work.

Mimi64 : Also, tell him that a bunch of us classic car typically get together and tell lies every Saturday night (weather permitting) in the old Randall's shopping center on Kingwood Dr. and West Lake Houston. mellen and I will be there tonight. mellen sometimes gives out autographs at no charge to those who show up.

mellenHmmmm, Brenda has a family like that. Original settlers in Florida. Came down from Massachusetts on one side and kept moving further down. We were at a friend's mother's funeral and heard her maiden name and bingo, the friend was a 3rd or 4th cousin. There is a Group called One Large Southern Family that had over 4,000 ancestors in dating back to the Revolution and more.Done a lot of genealogy research for the fam. In the 1880's a bunch moved this way and then to Oklahoma around 1905. One was one of the head guys at the labor camp in Sugarland. Hmmm, you never know, you might have another cousin...lol.If you can remember the post that would be interesting.
