That's what we pay freaking VERY HIGH TAXES for. The city of Houston should be doing that! However, if someone wants to help ... go get'em!

ArcherMan : I understand how you feel but we all know the COH is not in it to help KW look it's best. If we want to have a better place to live we have to pitch in and make it that way. Heck, They don't even clean the debris from the gutters. How long has it been since you saw a street sweeper truck in KW? It's not happening! For the COH KW is nothing special. We are just Houston!

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : That seems to be their attitude for all parts of Houston and why a large part of it looks like hell. "We don't have the manpower" or "There's no funding" blah blah blah. There's plenty of money when it's something they care about.

donnatella : Exactly!

I agree but I don't think the city is going to do anything. I read recently that the Woodlands was taking on a project to clear out all the vines that are negatively affecting the trees there. Something needs to be done about the underbrush and vine growth in Kingwood. I don't think the HOA's are going to do anything either, although I think they should

ArcherMan : If you want them to do all this they will have to be VERY VERY HIGH TAXES

ZMAN : Possibly even VERY VERY VERY HIGH TAXES. Very to the third power even. Emoticon

Correction… We are the City of Houston's piggy bank.

In all seriousness if you want the community to look nice and avoid increases in fees/taxes from CoH then best to roll up the sleeves.

goldie : CenterPoint has done SO much around the lines. Its been 9 months since Beryl and we haven't lost power once! That's insane.

They stuck to their word; I will give them that. Of course, they just announced a price hike so we're paying for all this. 🙄

If someone can get the underbrush, like you mentioned, we'd be in much better shape overall.

StormChaser : Same, The power used to go out every time there was even a breeze. its been so much better since they trimmed all the trees. I have power lines that run along the back of my property and saw them cut back all the trees around them extensively. Its a night and day difference to how it looked before and so much more stable.

ZMAN : For sure. We ride the trails and the difference is night and day.

They cut EVERYTHING back!

It has helped with every day outages so I'm sure it will help a lot when the time comes when we get another storm. Ugh I hate to even say that - let's just hope its a LONG time from now. 🤞

WORROW : If you have lived here for more than 25 years you know how KW looked before the COH took over. We had a very pristine community. Now our concrete roads are repaired with asphalt, the gutters don't get cleaned, and our trees are very overgrown with vines. I think it was KSA who made sure everything was perfect. KSA doesn't do that now.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA :
KSA is separate from CoH. As a reminder - we pay a decent bit of money for both our trails and our "Kingwood" surrounding landscaping. If KSA's mandate includes the median upkeep then we have failed to hold Ethel accountable.

If CoH is now responsible then again to my earlier note - best roll up your sleeves and pitch in. CoH is broke and we either pay and complain or put in our own sweat equity and complain about a sore back with a pretty drive.
