That makes me wonder if the plan is to fund the program through other sources.

That makes me wonder a lot of things but not that.
Texas is notoriously bad when it comes tp providing services to certain communities. Autism, psychiatry. I'll just stop. It's not like most people care
I don't why I bother.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it really can be a duck.
What in the world makes you think this is being done because of any interest in other funding sources?

MrsC67 :
It's not. Complete elimination. The budget request just submitted this month for the 2028-2029 legislative biennium. HHSC proposed entirely slashing the program's funding and eliminating it. Apparently, it was a last minute proposal and healthcare providers were given no heads up. The wait list is bad for both children and adults. I was on the wait list only a short time ago and it was 2 to 5 years. They only jumped me forward after a cognitive test I was having because of a stroke. I apparently threw enough red flags to raise some questions. Basically, it required a stroke to be helped in a timely fashion.

You are probably right about that. There was a time when no one even knew what autism was. Now look at all the panties in a wad. I can say this because I am surrounded by autism.

It just gives a reason for people to freak out. It's not even a done deal it's a maybe….. it's being discussed.

But then like I said if they do cut the program it'll be back and better when the next guy is elected. Just how it works
