Surprising that Aldi or Walmart didn't come out cheapest!

All I know is Duke's mayo is $8 for the small jar at HEB and $4 for the big one at Aldi

I agree! I think HEB is more expensive! I shop the coupons and specials.

HEB won in the long run, but a few items were cheaper at Kroger, and Gage did not use any of the coupons you can clip at Kroger. Had he done that, I think Kroger would have been similarly priced. Plus, I just saved 20 cents a gallon on gas with Kroger points, and have earned up to 40 cents a gallon. I did love that he donated the food they shopped for!

I am with you too on HEB being most expensive. If you should the coupons and get the things at the right time, Kroger can be cheaper across the board. I used to do comparisons with the 4 stores with what we buy along with Sam's for certain things and HEB always came out more expensive so I stopped comparing them. After a while you get to know the timing of the specials and can plan for them.Yes, the gas option is a good one too. You can save $30 on a fill up with the points, if you do a lot of groceries per month.

I do curbside orders most of the time and every now and then I'll build the same cart on the Heb and Kroger apps just to compare prices. Before coupons and sale prices, the totals are usually within a few bucks of each other. But once I load the sales and coupons, Kroger always comes out cheaper. Plus I get fuel points for shopping there and can routinely get $1 off per gallon at least once or twice a month. That really adds up in savings! I generally prefer Kroger anyway because its quieter and the employees are nicer. HEB is always a madhouse!

Being from Ohio ( birth place of the Kroger Co) I always knew Kroger was the most expensive so I rarely shopped there. I'd drive 25 minutes away just so I didn't have to shop at Kroger. I was surprised about Aldi though.
I love and miss HEB. Hubs was in Houston this week and is bringing home some HEB goodies ❤️

Selective shopping! I shop all3 for the deals!

We always spend less at Kroger using coupons and our Kroger cards. Sometimes we can save up to $30. Plus HEB many times only carries their own store brand and no other brands,

Totally agree. Kroger has always been cheaper for us. HEB in Kingwood is a madhouse.
