Guys this situation is ever changing and will be it looks until the last minute. That's not great but here we are. With every update, it's a bit more east. Hell there are a few now that show Louisiana! 🤦â€â™€ï¸ Rapid intensification is real and happens a lot. A storm can go from a Cat 2 to a Cat 4 in the 12 hours before landfall and THAT concerns me. But we don't know yet. As crazy as that is. Hopefully tomorrow? Lindner is saying minimum Cat 2 with 90mph winds. The models shifting to the north continue and so does the NHC and consensus track with a landfall along the TX coast near and north of Corpus Christi and additional shifts to the north may be required toward the Matagorda Bay Area. From Jef Lindner:
Hurricane and storm surge watches are issued from the mouth of the Rio Grande to Sargent Tx Preparations to protect life and property should be underway in the hurricane watch area. Residents in the upper TX coast should have hurricane plans ready to implement on Saturday if the track shifts eastward more. Follow all advice and recommendations from local officials. Guidance shifts to the north continue and so does the NHC and consensus track with a landfall along the TX coast near and north of Corpus Christi…additional shifts to the north may be required toward the Matagorda Bay Area.
â— Landfall of a 90mph category 2 is currently forecast, but conditions become increasingly favorable as Beryl approaches the TX coast for intensification and landfall as a major hurricane is certainly possible. Tropical storm and hurricane conditions will move northward into Monday from Padre Island toward Matagorda Bay. Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surge will spread north along the TX coast Sunday into Monday.
Rainfall amounts of 4-7 inches with much higher totals will be possible along and to the east of the track…flooding will be possible. Storm surge of 3-5 ft above normally dry ground near the coast is likely from Sargent to South Padre Is with 2-4 ft from Sargent to Sabine Pass…this is higher than Alberto near Matagorda Bay and similar east fo Sargent…these values may need to be increased…water begins to arrive Sunday afternoon.

I'm posting models as I see them. A bit more to the east and several now forecasting just west of Galveston which would put us on the dirty side. Jim Cantore is in Surfside 😬
ICON
ICOsahedral Non-hydrostatic modelling. -This has actually been a pretty accurate model with this storm and this is their current track.

Can you reschedule? Either leave Saturday or Sunday morning? Monday may be a hunker down day.

I can't get any of my family to even listen to me. The only way we are not scheduled for a cruise is I said I will not go period. And these folks are some of the smarter people around 🤦â€â™€ï¸. Can you imagine what dumber folks might be doing. Daughter is entertaining clients at lodge about 4 hours away and I have no clue where that is exactly. And she has no time to chat with me. I am thinking PMS!
Possible
Murder
Suicide
I guess I just give up. I am just going to refuse to go.
What is your departure port and itinerary? It's highly likely the cruise will cancel. If not, the captain will change course and go where the storm isn't but it will still be crazy rough. If you go, take plenty meds with you.

Oh we are NOT going on a summer cruise in the carribean. I refused to go. All those little islands that got hit I have been to. No way would I go during the hurricane months. And when I said absolutely No they knew I meant it.
I would not even want to park my car in Galveston because of storm surge. I know I am right because they are talking about storm surge in Galveston with this storm.
We settled on a trip to a nice beach but we most likely might not even go. Just depends.
