CenterPoint and home generators.
I know I have posted about this before when the first one or two came out. That has been a while back. They stated that because of the generator they could not replace it with the right part as it was not on their truck for a 26kw. That all checked out when I called CenterPoint. Moving forward, another came out and replaced ours but he did the same size than what CenterPoint said I needed to correct the meter readings. (CenterPoint made this decision without notification, we did not request it nor know there was a problem on their end.) The employee then asked if I had the proper permits for the installation. Yep, got copies of them right here. Then he tried to tell me we had the wrong type of line and the wrong gas meter for the size we have and quoted me $350 to fix their side of things and another $1k for our side. I had a master plumber come out and go back over everything and he indicated it was fine and totally within regulations. I just thought I would share since it really seemed like the guy didn't even want to be here to do the work. (It was sprinkling lightly) and he said he was an emergency technician. He then stated that if he started the work and got an emergency call, he would leave immediately and our gas could be off up to 24 hours. What is going on with this company? I'm curious what the gas pressures you have running for your own home generators.

@Jeepinbear :
The required gas pressure for every home generator is exactly the same (Natural Gas requiring 3.5 to 7 inches of Water Column and Liquid Propane requiring 10 to 12 inches of Water Column) - what is your question?

@Skippy :
He didn't phrase it as such. He stated I needed a 2lb pressure regulator installed first on my gas line going to the generator.
